The Arizona Cardinals went 4-13 in 2023. They had one of the worst records in the NFL. However, if you watched them play, you would know that they weren’t quite as bad as their record showed.

They were a more competitive than people thought.

In fact, aside from their four wins, they also had 10 games they lost in which they had the lead.

That led the league.

Those 10 losses after having a lead mean a couple of things. One is they lost a lot of games, which they did. Another is they were competitive.

They won four games, choked away a win against the Giants and were in position to win against Seattle in the final game of the season, missing a game-winning field goal in the final seconds.

They lacked talent on both sides of the ball last season and were still competitive enough to take leads.

In 2024, this should go down but it should be because they win more games.

If they lead the league in this stat again, it won’t be a good thing. It was only a good thing this past season.
