Ian Garry
Ian Garry hit back at the booing crowd after extending his UFC unbeaten run in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Dubliner defeated Geoff Neal via split-decision in California as the welterweight extended his undefeated run to 14 fights.
Garry was booed as he spoke to Joe Rogan in the octagon after the judges scores of 30-27 Garry, 30-27 Garry and 29-28 Neal were read out.
But the 26-year-old hit back at the jeers following his win over the Texas native.
He said: “Let them talk, Joe. We’re here. Hey, hey, I’m winning, undefeated, living the life, keep talking. Keep talking. You’re all here, watching me.
On his opponent, he added: “Here’s the thing, Geoff Neal hits hard and you’ve got to give respect to that guy. If not, I’ve seen him put many men down and I’ve seen him hit them and take their lights out. That guy’s a warrior. He’s one of the best in the division for a reason.”
When asked who he wants to face next, Garry called out Colby Covington.
He said: “There’s one guy I want next and I’ve been saying his name all week. His name’s Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. That guy’s on a three-fight skid against world champions.”
Garry added that he would like to fight on the undercard of Conor McGregor’s rumoured bout with Michael Chandler later this year.
