He's 26 years old, never gone beyond the quarter-final stage at a Grand Slam tournament, and is as notorious for his bad boy antics as he is his tennis prowess.
But Nick Kyrgios never fails to hit headlines – on and off the court.
At the Australian Open this week, he performed an underarm serve, shouted expletives, and then swigged a beer handed to him by a fan after he demolished Briton Liam Broady in his opening match.
Defeat to de facto top seed Daniil Medvedev followed, but he's continued to be noticed, with beaten opponents offering to fight him in the gym after an ill-tempered second-round doubles match.
But while the aforementioned dramas all relate – albeit tenuously – to tennis matches, his much publicised love-life also remains in the spotlight.
He's currently dating Costeen Hatzi, just months after his volatile split from model Chiara Passari, and the Australian's relationships – just like his tennis career – have rarely been low-key.

Things go awry with Tomjlanovic
Kyrgios was being hailed as a prestigious young talent on the tennis scene when he began dating fellow pro Ajla Tomljanovic – who hails from Croatia but had by then decided to represent Australia.
The pair were frequently spotted with each other and even played as partners in mixed doubles at the Australian Open in 2015 and 2016. Indeed, Kyrgios once told reporters: “It’s when I’m with her that I am the happiest.”
Seemingly, that didn't mean happy enough, with the couple splitting in 2017 after Kyrgios was photographed partying with other female tennis players.
Tomljanovic did the honourable thing and deactivated her social media after unfollowing her ex-boyfriend, and although Kyrgios later publicly hinted at a reunion, the romance never rekindled.
She's now in a relationship with another tennis star, Matteo Berrettini.
Kyrgios keeps up tennis theme with Kalinskaya

Come March 2020, and Kyrgios was dating another fellow tennis star, Russian player Anna Kalinskaya.
The two went public by attending a basketball game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles – but just two months later the stunner was on Instagram declaring: “We broke up. We aren't friends.”
The reasoning behind the split was never made clear, but Kyrgios would soon make comments about regularly wanting to sleep with good-looking fans and admitting he once struggled to finish a match with Roger Federer after being distracted by an “attractive” woman in the crowd.
What does two and two make again?
Police break up Kyrgios and Passari
Relations between Chiara Passari and Kyrgios ended with police breaking up a row
It started with an Instagram post, and ended in hotel quarantine.
Kyrgios announced their romance in 2021 by posting a cute picture of them along with the caption “Happiness is Found.”
Later in the year, he would post another saucy image of himself topless in bed with a woman's hand over him.
Passari then shattered any illusions that this was a loving tribute to his partner by telling fans “That girl naked in bed with him isn’t me by the way…Hope that clears it up.”
Amidst other allegations of Kyrgios cheating, in October police were called to a quarantine hotel in Adelaide to deal with a fierce row between the pair – but it was more than a confrontation that got broken up.
Passari didn't stop there, the following month labelling Kyrgios a “player” and then referencing roses he sent as an apology, ranting “Honestly who sends someone roses while still doing the same s***.”
It doesn't seem she was keen to stay friends.
Happiness at last with Hatzi?

So Kyrgios won't be kicking off 2022 with a maiden Grand Slam title, but he's a still winner in the eyes of new partner Costeen Hatzi.
That's according to the beauty herself, taking to Instagram after his second-round loss to say: “So proud of you. Played an amazing match – still a winner in my eyes.”
Indeed, Hatzi has been with the 'bad boy' throughout his stay at Melbourne Park, even isolating with him earlier this month when a positive test for Covid-19 threw his preparations into chaos.
The Sydney-based blogger, who after graduating from university has has founded her own business, Casa Amor Interiors, has now inadvertently become a social media star – gaining 18,000 followers since her sharing a picture of her and Kyrgios on social media,
Of course, the swiftness with which her ex moved on wasn't missed by Passari, who accused him of being “afraid to be alone.”
Today however, Kyrgios and Hatzi very much appear like love's young dream.
Let's see what tomorrow brings, though.
