Akshay Kumar participates in breaking Shri Hansratna Surishwarji’s 180-day fast with his first meal
Akshay Kumar was honored to participate in a poignant moment as he served a meal to Shri Hansratna Surishwarji, a distinguished Jain monk who concluded his 180-day fast at NSCI, Mumbai, on March 31. Dressed in an elegant kurta, the actor warmly participated in the grand ceremony.
Shri Hansratna Surishwarji, completing this fast for the seventh time, sustained himself solely on water, making it a remarkable feat. Akshay’s participation in helping him break the fast was considered a blessed moment. According to Jain scriptures, Lord Mahavir fasted for 180 days twice to promote peace with non-violence, and Hansratna Swami joins a select group of 12 individuals in Jain history to have accomplished this 180-day fast.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, co-starring Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Alaya F, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is slated to hit theaters on Eid 2024. Shot in multiple locations, including Mumbai, London, Abu Dhabi, Scotland, and Jordan, the movie is generating excitement for its grand scale and Hollywood-style cinematic visuals.
Additionally, Akshay Kumar has several other projects lined up, including ‘Housefull 5’, the Hindi adaptation of ‘Soorarai Pottru’ titled ‘Sarfira’. He is also part of the ensemble cast in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and will make a cameo appearance in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe drama ‘Singham Again’. Furthermore, he is involved in projects like ‘Sky Force’, ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat’, a Marathi film portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, ‘The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair’, and ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
Akshay recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, where he stars alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor. The film is penned and directed by Mudassar Aziz, renowned for his work on romantic comedies like ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ and ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. The ensemble cast also includes Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Notably, actor Fardeen Khan, who is making a comeback after a hiatus from films, is also part of the cast.
