Supercell together with SpaceApe was developing Boom Beach: Frontlines. The game has been in development for some time now; it was even soft-launched in select regions. However, an official statement from the developer has arrived stating that Boom Beach: Frontlines will no longer launch, rather the game will be shut down permanently. So what went wrong especially when the game was so close to the launch?

Boom Beach is a popular strategy game for Android and iOS. Supercell decided to further expand the franchise with a new game. They collaborated with SpaceApe in developing the 9v9 strategy title.
Hello Commanders,
We've made the very difficult decision to end the development of Boom Beach: Frontlines.
Thank you for your amazing support, for sharing your feedback and fun ideas, and for being such an incredible community for our game.

Supercell is one of the most popular developers in the smartphone gaming market thanks to their game Clash Of Clans. Since they are a big name in the market, fans always look forward to their new games. Hence, the pressure on the developer is always there. Now with Boom Beach: Frontlines, it seems like Supercell was not satisfied enough. The official Reddit post announcing the shut-down of the game says:
Even with all our efforts over the past year – introducing major features, redesigning progression, balancing the core gameplay, and much more – we felt that Boom Beach: Frontlines was still not reaching the expectations we had set for it.”
Supercell is constantly shutting down games
This is not the only game that Supercell decided to shut down. In the recent past, the developer announced to stop working on Everdale and Clash Quest. Maybe the developer needs to take a break, and only focus on limited games for now.
That being said, Boom Beach: Frontlines will be removed from all the App Stores soon. While, the game’s servers will be shut down on the 16th of January, 2023. Make sure to stick around for more mobile gaming news.
