BREAKING: Bok star RG Snyman will leave Munster
After ‘two years from hell’ on the injury, Springbok lock RG Snyman managed to recover just in time to feature at the World Cup, where he played a key role among the ‘bomb squad’ as South Africa clinched a historic fourth world title.

However, in an updated provided by his Irish club Munster, it was confirmed that Snyman “suffered a chest/shoulder injury during the World Cup final and will undergo surgery in South Africa”.
The latest reports have now revealed that the towering lock is set to be sidelined for between four and six months, and it’s now also been confirmed that he will be leaving the Irish club.

Munster have kept faith in Snyman since he joined the club in 2019, but a series of injuries have prevented him from getting regular game-time with the club.
“The province can also confirm that RG Snyman will depart Munster for a new playing opportunity on completion of his contract at the end of the season,” a Munster statement read. “A hugely popular figure at the province, Snyman won his second World Cup with the Springboks last month.
“He has twice returned from long-term injuries during his time at Munster and played an important role last season, making six appearances in the province’s charge to the URC title.
“He is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery on a chest/shoulder injury.”
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that his World Cup winning teammate Jean Kleyn has signed a contract extension.
RETURN TO SOUTH AFRICA ON THE CARDS FOR WORLD CUP STAR?
It’s interestingly reported that at least two South African teams could be interested in the services of the Springboks’ World Cup ‘viking’, with the Stormers thought to be one of them.

After the World Cup, Snyman revealed in an interview with Jim Hamilton that it was really a tough journey for him to be part of the squad and the Springboks team.
“I really had to do everything to get back here. To be part of this squad and team is something special in itself but to perform on the biggest stage.
“To have this [medal] around our necks tonight is such a great accomplishment for all of us,” added Snyman.
