Chelsea are reportedly prepared to loan out Trevoh Chalobah for the season despite their defensive shortage.
It is not known where Chalobah could be loaned to, but according to The Athletic the 23-year-old has many admirers both in the Premier League and in Serie A.
Chelsea are not willing to include any option for a loan to be made permanent and the player is said to only be interested in moving abroad if the club he joins are playing in a European competition.
A graduate of the Chelsea academy, Chalobah broke into the Blues first-team last season, notably scoring on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace before going onto make 30 appearances across all competitions.
With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving Stamford Bridge over the summer, it was expected that the England youth international, whose contract runs until 2026, would play a much larger role in Thomas Tuchel’s side.
However, he has been an unused substitute in Chelsea’s opening two matches of the season and with the centre-back/defensive midfielder very keen to secure regular game time, Tuchel is happy to sanction a move that will help develop the player he has high hopes for.

It is very strange however that Chelsea are willing to let him go, given that without him the club has just three senior centre-backs in their squad, namely Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly and Cesar Azpilicueta.
As well as the aforementioned departures, Malang Sarr and Levi Colwill have also been loaned out, to Monaco and Brighton respectively, although there are plans in place to sign another defender before the transfer window closes on September 1, with Leicester’s Wesley Fofana heavily linked.
It could also mean that versatile full-backs Reece James and Marc Cucurella could play more in Tuchel’s back-three, with the former starting there, and performing well, in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham last Sunday.
Several other Chelsea stars have been linked with a move away from West London recently, including Billy Gilmour, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic.
