MANILA, Philippines: The historic Goldenberg Mansion in Malacañang played host to a piano concert over the weekend that featured alumni from an educational institution in Manila known for developing the musical craft of students.

For one full day, graduates of the Santa Isabel College’s Conservatory of Music performed in the second Goldenberg concert series presented by the Office of the President together with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office on Saturday.

Among the group of performers were three of those who mastered their art under the tutelage of piano mistress Cecile Basilio Roxas.

The elite musicians also included Ma. Solinda Garcia-Bautista, Amor Marie Reyes, Altair Alonso, John Patrick De Jesus Reyes and his wife, Venecia Teresita Tamayo-Reyes.

The Goldenberg Concert Series II: Indak ng Musika showcased a diverse range of musical genres, from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions.

It featured three time slots and each show had a designated audience from various schools.

The 11 a.m. slot hosted students from Concordia College in Paco, Immaculate Heart of Mary College in Quezon City, Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Malate and Padre Gomez Elementary School in Sta. Cruz.

On the other hand, the 2 p.m. slot was for students from the British School in Manila, the International School Manila and Philippine Normal Universit.

The final piano concert at 5 p.m. was hosted for students from Santa Isabel College of Manila, La Salle Greenhills, Ateneo De Manila Junior High and other cultural aficionados.

The musical event was for the benefit of musically inclined students.
