Mosimane says Sundowns are now bigger than Chiefs and Pirates
Pitso Mosimane believes his former team Mamelodi Sundowns are now bigger than both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The Brazilians have dominated the Premier Soccer League for almost a decade and look likely to secure another DStv Premiership title
Sundowns have won six league trophies consecutively and are on thier way to claiming their seventh title.
Mosimane said the club was investing a lot of money and buying the best players in Africa.
“Chiefs were at some stage the biggest club. Pirates as well were a big team but Sundowns have opened a big gap,” Mosimane said as quoted by The Sunday World.
“They are investing a lot of money into the club – they are buying the best players on the continent and also from South America. They have a system, they have scouts to go look for quality players.
Mosimane believes Downs have opened a gap on rivals
“I was there, I know it. I used to travel with Walter Steenbok to South America. In the PSL era, the biggest team is Sundowns, they are winning the trophies,” said the ex-Sundowns coach.
The Brazilians currently top the DStv Premiership by nine points despite playing two games less.
