KUANTAN – Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Al Maidah Addiniah Padang Tengku, Lipis yang mengalami kerosakan akibat ribut pada Sabtu lalu mendapat perhatian kerajaan negeri yang meluluskan peruntukan sehingga RM280,000 untuk sekolah tersebut.
Dalam kejadian sekitar jam 10 malam itu, kerosakan didapati telah berlaku pada bahagian bumbung kolah mandi pelajar lelaki serta bumbung dan siling dapur dewan makan asrama.
Menteri Besar Pahang, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail memberitahu, peruntukan itu diluluskan hasil mesyuarat Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan (MMK) pada Rabu.
Menurutnya, menerusi peruntukan tersebut, kerja-kerja penyelenggaraan dan pembaikan dapat dilakukan.
“Saya berharap kerja-kerja pembaikan ini dapat disegerakan bagi memberi keselesaan kepada para pelajar terutamanya yang tinggal di asrama,” kata beliau dalam hantaran Facebook miliknya pada Rabu.
Sementara itu, pengetua sekolah tersebut, Siti Royani Ahmad Hafids bersyukur dengan peruntukan itu yang disifatkan sangat membantu mereka.
“Syukur Alhamdulillah… saya mewakili warga pentadbiran sekolah, guru-guru serta para pelajar Al Maidah mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih atas keprihatinan Menteri Besar Pahang, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail atas keprihatinan beliau.
“Moga para pelajar Al Maidah akan dapat belajar dengan lebih selesa selepas ini,” kata beliau kepada Sinar Harian.
Ujar Siti, ketika kejadian terdapat lapan pelajar lelaki di asrama terbabit yang memuatkan 98 lelaki dan 129 perempuan serta bersyukur kerana tidak melibatkan sebarang kecederaan.
Sekolah tersebut menempatkan 335 pelajar dengan 43 guru dan sempat dirasmikan penubuhannya pada 12 Mei 1957 dan bermula tahun 1967 sekolah itu diambil alih oleh Kerajaan Negeri Pahang yang diletakkan di bawah Jabatan Agama Islam Pahang (JAIP) sehingga kini.
