Crystal Palace want to bring Houssem Aouar to Selhurst Park this summerThe Frenchman has reportedly already agreed terms with Nottingham ForestBut Forest aren't meeting Lyon's £13million valuation for the midfielder
Crystal Palace are attempting to hijack Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, with Patrick Vieira keen to bring new signings through the door at Selhurst Park.
Aouar has been the subject of interest from a host of Premier League and European clubs this summer but has been edging closer to joining newly-promoted Forest.
The 24-year-old has an agreement on personal terms with Forest, however they are still short of Lyon’s £13million valuation as reported by Foot Mercato.

Forest have so far tabled an initial offer of £8.5million with a series of add ons increasing the eventual price. However the Ligue 1 side are holding out for more, leaving Palace with an opportunity to secure a deal instead.
Negotiations are at a standstill with Forest with the English club adamant they are not able to meet Lyon’s valuation, despite signing more new players than any other Premier League side so far this summer.
Palace are now monitoring the situation and are expected to make a move for the Frenchman in the next few days.

The Frenchman is currently valued at £13million by Ligue 1 side Lyon who are holding out
The London outfit have brought four new players to the club during the summer transfer window with 22-year-old Cheick Doucoure their most recent capture after forking out £20million to French side Lens.
Now Vieira will return to his homeland as he looks to pry Aouar away from Forest who have already held discussions with the player and his representatives.
Vieira will be hoping his status as one of France’s greatest ever midfielders could help sway Aouar to snub a move to Nottingham and instead join Palace, but the London club will need to move quick to snap up their latest target.
Aouar scored six goals for Lyon last season as they finished eighth in the Ligue 1 standings, 25 points behind champions PSG.
