The employee who triggered the internal investigation into Christian Horner has been suspended by Red Bull Racing.

Following a weeks-long investigation into Christian Horner’s behaviour as team boss, the employee who triggered the investigation has been suspended by Red Bull Racing.

Last week, Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of the F1 team, ‘dismissed’ their investigation into the team boss following a weeks-long process.

Horner was at the helm of the team throughout the 2024 car launch and for the season opener in Bahrain, in which the team claimed a dominant 1-2 finish.

With his position becoming more and more assured as the days tick by, the party that began the process by approaching Red Bull GmbH with grievances about Horner has now been suspended by Red Bull Racing.

The employee in question is understood to have been working in the Red Bull Racing campus in Milton Keynes on Monday, but has since been put on suspension.

Reports elsewhere that the employee had had their employment terminated are understood to be inaccurate.

When approached for comment, a Red Bull spokesperson told PlanetF1.com: “We do not comment on internal employee matters.”

Last week, Horner found himself at the heart of an astonishing sideshow when an email leak of alleged information was sent to hundreds of senior F1 personnel and media. The contents of the email have not been verified as genuine, but it led Horner to issue a short statement.

“I won’t comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations,” he said.

“I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way.

“It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season.”

Christian Horner: The unwanted attention hasn’t been pleasant

Speaking to the media in a terse session following the Bahrain Grand Prix, Horner was keen to move on from the events of the investigation after the process came to an end.

“Obviously, it’s not been pleasant, some of the unwanted attention, but the focus is now very much on the cars,” Horner told media, including PlanetF1.com.

“My focus has very much been on what’s going on on-track and the result today, I think, demonstrates where the whole team’s focus is, and we move onwards.”

Horner’s wife Geri was in attendance in Bahrain, as was Red Bull majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya as the team showed a united front at the first round of the season.

When their attendance was put to him, Horner responded: “I’ve had tremendous support from within the team, and within the company.

“It was a day about going racing, about the start of the season, and about starting the season in the best possible way.

“The drivers did brilliantly, the team did brilliantly and it was the best possible start for the team, for our partners, for our shareholders, and everybody within the group.”
