Driver reported over wild road rage incident in Adelaide

A driver has received multiple offence reports after a wild road rage incident captured on video turned into a wider investigation.

Video of the incident, where the driver of a black Ford sedan is seen pursuing a food delivery driver on a scooter on Henley Beach Rd in Brooklyn Park in Adelaide’s west last week, went viral, prompting police to investigate.

While it’s unknown what prompted the incident, the Ford is seen driving close behind the scooter driver as he swerves to avoid being hit.

The scooter driver goes from one lane to another trying to avoid the car before driving in front of a third vehicle to get out of reach.

Shouts can be heard from the black Ford after the scooter gets away.

Traffic officers attended the Hendon address of the owner the vehicle was registered to to make inquiries about the incident.

They pulled over the car in question as it approached the house.

The 23-year-old female driver tested positive for cannabis and police checks revealed her licence had expired.

“She was also reported for traffic offences in relation to the Brooklyn Park incident, including aggravated driving without due care, driving unlicensed, fail to drive within marked lane and fail to stop on yellow signal,” an SA Police spokesperson said.

She would be summoned to appear in court “at a later date”, the spokesperson said.

Not only was she reported for the alleged offences, but the car was defected and impounded for 28 days.

SA Police has warned drivers that they can be “filmed anywhere, anytime – which dramatically increases the chances of being caught”.

“Police will follow up on vision showing dangerous or criminal acts and will take action where necessary,” a spokesperson said.

“There are many occasions where vision has been provided to police or we are directed to social media sites to review vision of dangerous driving.”
