Noida Metro News: NMRC Launches New Chandrayaan-3 Themed Card, Can Now Be Used In Noida, Delhi

In celebration of its fifth year of operating the Aqua Line between the twin industrial cities of Noida and Greater Noida, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) unveiled the “NMRC-SBI Co-branded Metro Card” on Thursday.

Now in a recent development, the NMRC and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have joined hands to provide its passengers the ease to travel between Noida and Delhi using the same metro card.

NMRC MD Dr. Lokesh M said all the technical problems have been resolved. This new card will be launched soon.

Speaking on the Chandrayaan-3-themed SBI Co-branded Metro Card, he said that about 8 thousand passengers are using the card in Noida since January 1, 2023.

The MD stated that NMRC will soon construct three new routes here. First, the government received the DPR from Sector 142 to the Botanical Garden.

The second one is from Metro Depot to Bodaki, and its DPR has also been sent to the government, while the third is proposed from Knowledge Park.

MD stated that ticket vending machines will now be installed in all metro stations. Barcode scanners, charging stations, and luggage counters were installed at the stations. Kiosks are also being built at Metro stations to increase revenue.

Dr. Lokesh M stated that an institution can only operate if it has sufficient revenue resources. “We currently take Rs 110 crore from the Noida Authority. By ending this, we are becoming self-sufficient. Ridership is most important to us. In addition, feeder buses will be used. It will be run by the Noida Authority, which will be built with last-mile connectivity in mind. This will make it easier for passengers to use the metro.”
