Elon Musk, X sue watchdog Media Matters over report on advertisements linked to racist content
Musk accused the watchdog of misrepresenting the typical user experience on the platform.
HOUSTON — Elon Musk and the website formerly known as Twitter are suing journalism watchdog Media Matters.
Media Matters reported that X was tying major advertiser posts to white nationalist, racist and anti-Semitic content.
Disney, IBM and other companies pulled their ads from X.
Now, Musk is accusing the watchdog of misrepresenting the typical user experience on the platform.
The lawsuit was filed Monday in a federal court in North Texas.
But that’s not the only Texas connection.
Two of Attorney General Ken Paxton’s former impeachment attorneys are among those who filed the suit on behalf of X.
Meanwhile, Paxton himself announced that the Texas Attorney General’s Office is investigating Media Matters for alleged fraud tied to its reporting on X.
