Southampton are considering Domenico Tedesco and Manchester City assistant boss Enzo Maresca as possible candidates to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Hasenhuttl remains in charge of Southampton but his future at the club is uncertain with the Saints currently in 16th place in the Premier League.

Former RB Leipzig manager Tedesco is one of the managers under consideration.

Southampton are also discussing Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca

Tedesco was sacked by Leipzig last month after less than a year in charge. He previously coached Spartak Moscow, Schalke and Erzgebirge.

Maresca is currently the assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, where he is highly thought of and it is unlikely that the Premier League champions will let him leave at this stage of the season.

Having previously been the assistant boss at Ascoli and Sevilla, Maresca took up a similar position at West Ham in 2018.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s future as Southampton manager remains uncertain after recent results

Following that he coached City’s Elite Development Squad before managing Parma, who sacked him in November 2021.

Hasenhuttl has been in charge of Southampton since December 2018, with Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Thomas Frank the only Premier League managers to have been at their clubs for longer.

Out of his 167 games in charge so far, Hasenhuttl has won 58, drawn 39 and lost 70.

Southampton, who have lost four of their last five matches, face Manchester City away on Saturday.
