Doppio semaforo verde da parte del consiglio dei ministri su proposta del presidente Mario Draghi, alla realizzazione di due impianti per la produzione di energia elettrica da fonti rinnovabili. Arriva il giudizio di compatibilità ambientale per il permesso di ricerca finalizzato all’impianto pilota geotermico Cortolla, nel Comune di Montecatini Valdicecina per 5 Mwe e per l’impianto pilota geotermico Castelnuovo nel Comune di Castelnuovo Valdicecina, per 5 Mwe. In quest’ultimo caso, parliamo di uno dei due impianti che riguardano Montecastelli Pisano: si tratta di un impianto sperimentale, approvato adesso dal Cdm, sul quale il Comune aveva già espresso parere negativo. Un impianto distinto dal discusso progetto di centrale geotermica Qualtra, anch’esso a ridosso di Montecastelli Pisano, per il quale era arrivata pronuncia positiva di compatibilità ambientale da parte della Regione, poi confermata nell’aprile 2021 dal governo. Le autorizzazioni sono arrivate “in seguito alla complessiva valutazione e armonizzazione degli interessi pubblici coinvolti – si legge in una nota del Cdm. Intanto la geotermia torna a animare i dibattiti del governo regionale. A Earth, fiera dell’innovazione tecnologica in campo ambientale, l’assessore regionale all’ambiente Monia Monni fa chiarezza sulla posizione della Regione e chiede un deciso intervento del governo per arrivare già nel 2030 ad un incremento di 200 MW di potenza. “In Toscana la geotermia è la regina delle rinnovabili – ha detto Monni – è sicura, non influenzata dal meteo e rappresenta un’occasione di crescita per l’intero territorio. Non possiamo perdere il treno del raddoppio della potenzia geotermica da installare in Italia al 2050 e, da subito, dobbiamo lavorare per arrivare ad un incremento di 200MW al 2030”.

“Il governo – chiarisce l’assessore – deve uscire dall’incertezza e metterci nelle condizioni di centrare gli obiettivi fissati sull’energia da fonti rinnovabile fin dalla fine di questo decennio. Le strade sono due: mettere la Regione nella condizione di fare subito le gare, vista la scadenza delle concessioni al 2024, consentendo comunque il riconoscimento degli investimenti che devono essere fatti oggi senza tentennamenti, oppure prorogare le concessioni dialogando con l’UE. Questa situazione di non decisione comporta solo decadimento”.
