M&S' £39 floral dress perfect 'for all occasions' shoppers say is 'so flattering and pretty'

Nearly a month into spring, temperatures are finally starting to warm up. And to mark the new season, long flowy dresses are the perfect addition to your everyday edit.

Marks and Spencer has a great range of them, including the very popular £39.50 Ditsy Floral Midaxi Tea Dress. It comes in petite, regular and long, but certain sizes are selling out fast.

Crafted from a lightweight fabric, it’s cut in a regular fit with short sleeves. The midaxi-length garment also features a round neck, ruffled detailing and a button fastening.

The piece can easily be dressed up or down, but for a more casual look, you can add a pair of white trainers, such as the £25 Lace Up Trainers from Marks and Spencer. The dress has a 4.5 rating from across 32 reviews.

A very pleased shopper wrote: “Really happy with this dress, the colour and style is great. Very flattering, have a holiday and a daytime party coming up and it will be perfect for both.”

“This is a beautiful dress, the fit is perfect. This could be dressed up or down and I’m sure it will be a go to dress,” another added, while a third commented: “This is such a sweet dress, easy to wear and dress up or down, great quality at a good price.”

There has been very little criticism of the product, but some customers were disappointed by the sizing and fit: “Very disappointed with this dress, lovely quality but not true to size. Very tight under bust, peculiar shape from waist downwards as it hugs hips and legs.”

Alternatively, there’s the £49 Alexa Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child. It’s available in eight different colours and patterns, including blue and white – note however that some are priced at £65.

This model is all about the vintage-inspired details, from the tea dress cut to the covered buttons, and is designed with a shirred back to pull you in at the waist. There are no reviews yet, but it’s currently one of the most popular items on the brand’s website.
