Arsenal beat Bodo Glimt 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday eveningGabriel Jesus came off the bench to provide a stunning assist for Fabio VieiraRay Parlour thinks he has been an unbelievable signing for his former club

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour thinks Gabriel Jesus has been an ‘unbelievable’ signing for his old club and sees some similarities in his game with that of Thierry Henry.

Jesus came off the bench to provide a stunning assist against Bodo Glimt on Thursday night, drifting past two defenders on the left before teeing up Fabio Vieira for Arsenal’s third.

And Parlour has been blown away by just how good the Brazilian has been since he joined in the summer.

‘The third goal was brilliant from Jesus,’ he said on talkSPORT. ‘He’s so lively isn’t he.

‘The way he just turned on the half turn and once he’s got that little turn of pace he goes past the defender and they can’t bring him down. His ball skills are so good in front of goal.

‘Unbelievable. Do you know what it is. He’s the main man now. At City, you know, he was a fringe player wasn’t he. Wasn’t playing on a regular basis. Now he’s centre-forward, he drifts out to the left quite often a little like Thierry Henry used to.

‘I know he’s a totally different player to Thierry Henry but he’s been an absolute revelation since he’s been at arsenal. So has Zincehnko. The recruitment, we always say is so important in football clubs. ‘It’s been spot on.’
