Despite the ongoing chip shortage issues, which had prompted Honda Malaysia to warn about a 12-month-long lead time for the all-new Honda HR-V, it seems that delivery for the highly-awaited model is still going strong. At a special delivery ceremony for the “first customer in Malaysia to own the All-New HR-V RS e:HEV”, the company announced that it has now delivered over 1,300 units of the B-segment SUV in the one month since its official launch back in July.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hironobu Yoshimura said, “The response we have received for the All-New HR-V has been overwhelming, and we believe this new model will be sensational once again as it did in the past. Today, we are excited to deliver the All-New HR-V to the first owner, Ms. Nurul Hafida.”
As the first customer, Nurul Hafida Binti Mhd Jais also received a special gift pack worth RM5,700, consisting of Honda authorized accessories, ultra glass body coating, Honda official merchandise, as well as a token of appreciation from Honda Malaysia to celebrate the milestone.
“I did my research even before the official launch of the All-New HR-V in Malaysia. The exterior styling and looks caught my attention and that’s when I decided to book the model the moment it was opened for booking,” said Nurul Hafida, who was present at the event together with her family to receive the car.
“I have been anticipating the delivery of my new car. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I was the first customer to receive the car. And what’s even more exciting is the additional surprise of receiving gifts from Honda! I am looking forward to taking my family out and about on my new ride,” she added.
Launched here in July, the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V is available in four variants, with prices starting at RM114,800 (on-the-road, without insurance) for the entry-level S variant, and topping off at RM140,800 for the range-topping RS variant that was delivered to Nurul Hafida in the ceremony.
Uniquely in Malaysia, the B-segment SUV is offered in three different powertrain options, including a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated mill with 121 hp and 145 Nm, a turbocharged 1.5-litre VTEC engine with 181 hp and 240 Nm, as well as the headlining 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain that delivers 131 hp and 253 Nm of torque, available solely on the range-topping RS variant.
