The iPhone 14 Pro models have welcomed the debut of Dynamic Island, which is popular for being a pill-shaped cutout that you can see on top of the screen.

While some users are happy about adding this feature, some are disappointed. That’s why they want to turn it off instantly. If you’re annoyed by this feature, here’s how to turn it off temporarily.

What is Dynamic Island?

How to Dismiss Dynamic Island Content on iPhone 14 Pro [2022]

iPhone 14’s Dynamic Island might not be fully removed, but there’s a way to temporarily dismiss it.

Livemint has previously reported that the iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island replaces the usual notch we have seen in past Apple handsets. You can check the progress of your current activity here, as well as the notifications throughout the day.

Apparently, it’s not only exclusive to the iOS platform. For instance, Xiaomi MIUI has adopted “Grumpy UI,” a customizable theme that’s somewhat similar to Dynamic Island.

For other Android users, you can try using the DynamicSpot app, which works the same with the newest feature. According to the developers, this could work for music, timer, chats, and more apps.

Can You Fully Remove Dynamic Island?

One thing that irks some iPhone users regarding this feature is the fact that it hides the front camera for selfies. It can also block the Face ID components.

Apparently, Dynamic Island cannot be deleted or removed from the smartphone. You cannot disable it either, according to Mashable, because you won’t see any options in your smartphone’s settings.

However, there’s a way to temporarily turn off this content that you can simply pull off. Here’s how it works.

How to Temporarily Turn Off Dynamic Island

Dynamic Island is built-in content on iOS 16, making it harder to remove. There are cases when you can easily get distracted by the animations that are floating on the screen, and this is the time that you decide to vanish it right away.

According to Macrumors, you can start by left-and-right swiping on Dynamic Island. This won’t affect any running apps or activities in the background.

For instance, you can go to the Apple Music app to listen to your favorite song. Then you want to turn it off in the meantime. Simply dismiss the content on Dynamic Island, but the audio keeps playing on-screen.

The same process applies to the timer. Even if you don’t see any running clock in the background, the timer will still run despite its on-screen absence.

There’s a catch for this trick: after swiping right or left on the feature, the particular task will be turned off in an instant. The previously opened app won’t revert to normal when you tap on Dynamic Island.
