Valerii Zaluzhnyi made his first statement after being dismissed from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and receiving the title of Hero of Ukraine, according to Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s Telegram channel.
Zaluzhnyi emphasizes that it is a great honor for him to receive the title of Hero of Ukraine.
“It is an honor and responsibility that I feel towards every defender of Ukraine, despite not currently holding a position. This is your reward, because you are the true Heroes! With dedication and gratitude, I serve and will continue to serve the Ukrainian people!” he writes.
Zaluzhnyi’s dismissal and the appointment of Syrskyi as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
Yesterday, on February 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the decision to dismiss Valerii Zaluzhnyi from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Instead, Oleksandr Syrskyi was appointed as the new Commander-in-Chief.
Rumors about Zaluzhnyi’s resignation emerged at the end of January 2024. Even before that, there were speculations online about the possible dismissal of Zaluzhnyi.
