Donald Trump urged to offer message of ‘hope’ for America

University of California Political Scientist Professor Louis DeSipio says the challenge for Donald Trump is needing to articulate a “positive message”.

Prof DeSipio says there is evidence that 15 to 20 per cent of Republicans are “very hesitant” about voting for Donald Trump again.

“The question for the fall campaign will be how do you balance the fear of another Trump presidency,” Prof DeSipio told Sky News Australia.

“With the promise that he makes to middle America and to America as a whole that he is a better leader for the moment.

“Grievance goes only so far; you need to offer hope for America as well and he is not doing that at all.”
