Eleven players with the most match wins against the Big Three of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer

Notching up victories against Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer is a rare feat in tennis so who has the most match wins against the Big Three in tennis?

Of the 11 players on the list, four are still active, one is hoping to make a comeback while the other six have already retired.

8. = Alexander Zverev, David Ferrer, David Nalbandian, Andy Roddick – 11 wins

Alexander Zverev could still move up on the list before he – or the remaining two members of the Big Three – retires as he is the only player among those with 11 wins who are is still active.

The German’s 11 wins include four against Federer, four against Nadal and three against Djokovic. In fact, he had a winning head-to-head record against Federer (4-3).

David Ferrer’s record against the Big Three is peculiar as he has zero wins against Federer (0-17), five wins against Djokovic (5-16) and six wins against Nadal (6-26).

David Nalbandian, who is the only player to beat the Big Three of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer at the same tournament, was 8-11 against Federer, 2-5 against Nadal and 1-4 against Djokovic.

Andy Roddick is one of only 11 players with a winning record against Djokovic as has a 5-4 record while he was 3-7 against Nadal and 3-21 against Federer.

7. Stan Wawrinka – 12 wins

Stan Wawrinka was part of the Big Five at some point as he won three Grand Slams when Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray were dominating the sport.

The Swiss great is 3-23 against Federer, 3-19 against Nadal and 6-21 against Djokovic. Four of his wins against Djokovic came at Grand Slams.

6. Tomas Berdych – 13 wins

Former world No 3 Tomas Berdych lost his only Grand Slam final against Nadal at Wimbledon in 2010. It was one of 20 defeats to Nadal with the Czech beating the Spaniard four times. He was 3-25 against Djokovic while he had more success against Federer with a 6-20 record.

5. Lleyton Hewitt – 14 wins

Two-time Grand Slam winner Lleyton Hewitt got most of his wins against the Big Three against Federer as he won nine of the 18 matches against the Swiss great before retiring. The Australian also won the last of their 18 matches in Brisbane in 2013.

He was 4-7 against Nadal while he was 1-6 against Djokovic.

4. Dominic Thiem – 16 wins

Peak Dominic Thiem was something else against the Big Three as he has a 5-2 winning record against 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer.

The Austrian is also 6-9 against Nadal with four of those coming on clay and 5-7 against Djokovic.

2. Juan Martin del Potro and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – 17 wins

Juan Martin del Potro’s name is synonymous with “what might have been had he not had so many injuries”. Seven of his wins came against Federer (7-18), including his glorious win in the 2009 US Open final. He is also 6-11 against Nadal and 4-16 against Djokovic.

Although Del Potro hasn’t played any competitive tennis since February 2022, he still has hopes of making a comeback.

Retired former world No 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Federer in six of their 12 matches while was also 6-17 against Djokovic and 4-10 against Nadal.

1. Andy Murray – 30 wins

Andy Murray really was the best in the business against the Big Three during his heyday as he beat Federer and Djokovic 11 times each.

Murray won six of his first eight matches against Federer, but the Swiss won their overall H2H 11-14, while is currently 11-25 against Djokovic and 7-17 against Nadal.
