Dan Quinn’s viral Commanders’ press conference: ‘Nothing I enjoy more than doing hard s— with good people’

The word of the day at Dan Quinn’s introductory press conference? Constipation, it seems.

The new Commanders coach impressed on the pulpit, offering numerous quips showcasing his motivational and leadership skills — qualities that surely enticed general manager Adam Peters into hiring the former Cowboys defensive coordinator.

He had one wobble, however. As his presser neared its conclusion, Quinn hoped to deliver a resounding statement, the sort of remark that would ring loudly across Washington’s training facility for years to come.

Quinn’s assertion certainly will swirl in some folks’ minds. The reason why, though, might not be exactly how he planned it.

Quinn decided to fire off an expletive, hoping to give the public a glimpse at the sort of energy he plans on inciting out of the Commanders’ corps. He could’ve chosen a better one, however.

Dan Quinn press conference: What did new Commanders coach say?

“I’m gonna give myself a little grace and allow one swear word here because I’ve done a pretty good job so far. I haven’t had any and I swear a lot,” Quinn said. “There is nothing I enjoy more than doing hard s— with good people.”

Um, okay Dan. That is…uhhhhh…graphic.

Quinn resembled another famous Dan with his rhetoric. The newfound Washington tactician sounded eerily similar to Lions boss Dan Campbell, another hulking figure who tends to leave people weary with his treasure trove of phrases.

What were the best reactions to Dan Quinn’s press conference?

This one didn’t elicit quite the positive reaction that Campbell’s typically brings, however. Instead, folks clowned the former Falcons coach for letting loose such a foul — and terribly perfect — finishing touch to his D.C. introduction.

Quinn’s opening presser went off without a hitch otherwise, with Quinn dropping gems about everything from winning to Eric Bieniemy’s status with the team going forward.

Ultimately, though, it’s hard to get past the stomach issues that Quinn admitted to.
