Drivers navigate harsh conditions during a snow squall Monday afternoon in Chardon.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A winter storm in the Northeast Ohio snow belt is expected to drop up to 9 inches of snow overnight, with some areas already reporting more than 4 inches of snow on the ground.
Burton in Geauga County, which is in the heart of the snow belt, had the most on the ground as of 8 p.m., with 4.5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Chardon was right behind with 4.3 inches.

North Royalton led the way in Cuyahoga County, with 4.2 inches. Woodmere had 2.7 inches and Chagrin Falls 2.3 inches.
In Lorain County, Elyria had 2.3 inches, while Concord Township in Lake County had 2 inches.
