President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in Ukraine, there are 500 defense industry enterprises producing weaponry for the Ukrainian army.
The head of state congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of Defense Industry Workers and presented state awards to weapon manufacturers.
Zelenskyy noted that nearly 300,000 people are engaged in weaponry production in Ukraine.
“There are currently 500 defense industry enterprises operating in Ukraine. Almost 300,000 people are involved in this important and priority production of ours. And all of this is truly one of the main foundations of our independence. The events of the war prove this,” said the head of state.
Zelenskyy emphasized that thanks to Ukrainian developments, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are clearing the Black Sea of enemy ships, and Ukrainian Stuhny anti-tank guided missiles, armor, and FPV drones are no longer something unusual.
Weapons of Ukrainian production
The Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, announced that Ukraine has established serial production of a domestic analog of the Shahed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
According to him, over the past year, Ukraine’s defense industry has grown sixfold.
The Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, stated that Ukraine has already caught up with Russia in terms of the number of long-range kamikaze drones. He mentioned that Ukraine has ambitions to transition the production of electronic warfare systems to market rails and open it up to entrepreneurs.
