Footy star Corey Wagner's new wife reveals the shocking moment a bridesmaid did the unthinkable during their stunning Bali wedding

Fremantle Dockers AFL star Corey Wagner’s new wife Michaela Caione has described their wedding as ‘the most perfect day’ despite their nuptials being hit by a series of dramas – including a shocking moment during the ceremony.

The 26-year-old proposed to his love in Bali in June 2022 so the couple headed back to the Indonesian island to tie the knot with friends and family recently – and the event was action-packed to say the least.

Held at the exclusive Sanctuary resort, the ceremony saw Caione wear a stunning gown with a long train and veil complete with what appeared to be pearls woven into it, before changing into a white mini-dress for the very enthusiastic celebrations after they exchanged vows.

And while the photos and videos on the couple’s Instagram accounts paint a beautiful picture, there was plenty of drama away from the lens.

‘There are simply no words to describe this day,’ Caione wrote on Instagram.

‘Married my bestfriend in front of the most special people in the world, in the most special place.

‘Even with the torrential rain, a guest fainting, bridesmaid spewing halfway through the ceremony and missing guests, it all added to the story of the most perfect day!’

Her Instagram story featured a series of videos that proved the shock illness during their nuptials didn’t take any gloss off the day.

The footage shows Wagner following her around the dance floor, both with drinks in hand, as they put on a show for their guests to the tune of Love Shack by the B-52s after their marriage was made official.

Their family and friends belted out a rendition of Nickelback’s hit How You Remind Me and one of the guests is seen enjoying a beverage in a pool at the resort after jumping in still fully clothed from the ceremony.

Fremantle marked the occasion with a post on X on Monday, featuring two shots from the celebrations along with the caption, ‘Nice day for a Wags wedding. Huge congrats to Corey & Michaela!’

When Wagner proposed, his wife posted a video to Instagram capturing the moment he popped the question, followed by her crying with joy as she video-called friends to give them the good news.

‘To my fiancee, YES! In this lifetime and the next, I love you. Mrs. Wagner coming soon,’ she wrote on the post, which was liked by Wagner’s ex-teammate Christian Petracca.

Wagner will be looking to build on the nine games he played for the Dockers last season as he trains in preparation for the club’s 2024 campaign.

After making his AFL debut for North Melbourne in round 13 of the 2016 season, he was delisted at the end of 2017 but bounced back to play 11 games for Melbourne in 2019 and 2020.

Fremantle took him with pick 57 in the 2022 AFL Draft after he revived his career when he was switched to halfback for Port Melbourne in the VFL, and he was shocked when he got his first start for the club in round five last season.

‘To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting to come in so I was a bit rattled and I tried to do everything too right and put a bit too much pressure on myself,’ Wagner explained.

‘I got smothered a few times and was rattled early, but the more footy you play through the year the more confident you get with your kicking and I’ve just kept going for my kicks after those mistakes.’
