HammondCare Chief Executive Mike Baird has called on governments to look for opportunities to fund “essential critical services”.
A major review of aged care funding has told the Albanese government that wealthy Australians should draw down their superannuation and pay more for their aged care costs.
“Think of the pressures that are coming in NDIS … you’ve got defence pressures, you’ve got aged care pressures, but you’ve got health pressures,” Mr Baird told Sky News Australia.
“There is huge pressures that are coming not just on the federal government but all governments, so looking for opportunities to fund what are essential critical services is something every government should do.

“This sort of reform requires bipartisan support and, long term, gives you an opportunity to do the reforms that are needed.”
