People are just realising mind-blowing iPhone ‘call secret’ you’ve never noticed

LONG-TIME iPhone owners will have received hundreds or even thousands of phone calls – but there's still plenty to learn.

If you've ever wondered why not all phone calls appear the same on your iPhone, you're not alone.

It's not immediately obvious why there are two different phone call screens on iPhone.

One appears with the iconic slide-to-unlock feature that Apple has used for years.

But sometimes a phone call will show up with Accept and Decline button options instead.

Thankfully the myth has been dispelled in a viral video by TikTok tech whiz @makhirtech, which has racked up over 12,000 likes.

In fact, it's only when your iPhone is unlocked that you get the option to accept or decline.

This will appear either on the Lock Screen (when you've unlocked), or as a pop-up notification at the top of the screen.

The slide-to-answer appears specifically when your iPhone is locked.

iPhone masterminds will know, however, that it's still possible to decline a call even when Slide To Unlock appears.

Simply tap the power button once to prevent the iPhone from ringing anymore.

And if you double-click the iPhone power button, it will decline the call.

It's not exactly clear why there are two different call screens.

One popular theory is that having slide-to-unlock prevents any accidental button taps while an iPhone is locked and in your pocket.

Secret iPhone codes

If you want to truly master your iPhone phone call app, you need to learn all of the hidden codes.

You could access numerous useful iPhone features by typing in a few secret codes into your phone dialpad.

Here are some of the best:

  • *#06# – IMEI number
  • *3001#12345#* – signal info
  • *61* – divert incoming call (add the number you want the calls to be diverted to then add hash)
  • *67 (or #31# outside US) – hide caller ID
  • *646# – minutes left on contract
  • *33* then PIN then hash – prevent outgoing calls
  • *43# – enable call waiting
  • #43# – disable call waiting

Some of these codes might not work depending on your network carrier.

But give them a go and see if you have any luck.
