Premier Cricket: Cam Green half-century helps Subiaco-Floreat to win over University Cricket Club

A Cam Green half-century has helped Subiaco-Floreat record a 72-run win over local rivals University Cricket Club at James Oval.

Batting at first drop, Green made 57 to help Subiaco-Floreat to 201 before their bowlers did enough to bowl out University for just 129.

In his first appearance of the Premier Cricket season, Green struck a good early partnership with Jayden Goodwin (24) to lead his side to 1-79.

Green blasted five fours and two sixes in 81 balls before he was dismissed by Jay Chislett with his side at 3-95.

A couple more quick wickets to Chislett left the visitors reeling at 5-111, but Christopher Hansberry’s unbeaten 56 helped guide them to a more respectable 201.

After taking 3-14 from nine overs last week, Elijah Gravestock continued his strong start with the ball for University, finishing with 5-37 from 7.5 overs.

Despite the early loss of James Kirwan, University steadied through Tom Murray (70) and Connor Smith (25) as they reached 1-102.

However, Hamish McKenzie ripped through the middle order with 5-45 and was ably assisted by Hansberry (3-35) as University crumbled and lost their last nine wickets for just 27 runs.
