Cumberland Valley cruises to Mid Penn title win over Hershey
HARRISBURG, P.a. (WHTM) — Cumberland Valley head coach David Vespignani believed the Eagles were the best team in the Mid Penn all season. They proved that Friday night.
Cumberland Valley handled business against Hershey in the Mid Penn boys basketball championship game, holding off the Trojans 52-41 in a game they had control of from the first timeout of the first quarter.
“I’m really proud of our guys because I felt like all year long we were the top team in the Mid Penn and to be able to finish that tonight again is a testament to those guys in that locker room,” Vespignani said after the win.
The no. 2 seed Eagles now gear up for the District III 6A playoffs next week, where they will face the winner of Cedar Crest and Wilson. Hershey enters the 5A district playoffs as the top seed as they await the winner of Red Land and Warwick.
