realme today launched its latest offering in the affordable smartphone segment, the realme 9i 5G in India. Featuring a 6.6-inch 90Hz LCD display with a resolution of 1080p, it sports a water drop notch to house an 8MP selfie camera.
As for the main shooters, the 9i 5G has a 50MP main + 2MP portrait + 2MP macro triple-camera setup at its rear. As reported by IT Home, the main shooter is equipped with a f/1.8 aperture and 5P lens.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor paired with either 4 or 6GB of RAM. As for storage, there are available in two options, 64GB and 128GB.
realme lauds the 9i 5G as being the thinnest 5G smartphone in the affordable segment. A bit specific there, but it is indeed quite thin and light, measuring 8.1mm and weighing 187 grams, despite packing a 5000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging.
As the name of the device would suggest, there’s also 5G connectivity support and like other realme devices, you can virtually expand the memory up to 3GB using its storage. Other notable specs include a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot (up to 2TB) and three colour options, namely Soulful Blue, Rocking Black, as well as Metallic Gold.
The 9i 5G can be pre-ordered in India starting 24 August 2022 for INR14,999 or ~RM842 for the 4/64GB variant and INR16,999 or ~RM955 for the 6/128GB configuration. As of the time of writing, realme has yet to reveal whether it plans to expand the availability of the smartphone to other regions.
