Report: Cubs ‘Making Push' for Free Agent Jameson Taillon

Report: Cubs ‘making push’ for SP Jameson Taillon originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Team president Jed Hoyer’s stated goal of “absolutely” wanting to compete in 2023 means the Cubs have to add starting pitching this winter.

It appears they’re nearing their first move on that front, according to multiple reports on the Cubs and Jameson Taillon.

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported late Tuesday the Cubs were making a push for Taillon. Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman of the New York Post then reported the two sides were meeting trying to finalize the deal.

MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reported the sides were closing in on a deal.
