Chicago and Northwestern University police are responding to a call of shots fired on the school’s downtown Chicago campus on Monday night.
According to the school, the call of shots fired came from an area near Wieboldt Hall, a campus building located across the street from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in the city’s Streeterville neighborhood.
An alert that went out to students and faculty read:
“There is an active threat event on the Chicago campus. Run, hide, fight. Take proper shelter,” the alert read. “Lock and/or barricade doors. Await further information.”
There was no further information on whether the alert was bonafide, or if there were any injuries related to the incident.
