Sacha Baron Cohen bought his wife Isla Fisher a ring to remind her of her dad after his death.
The 52-year-old actor has been married to Hollywood star Isla, 47, since 2010 and she explained that she misses being able to speak to her late dad Brian – who died earlier this year at the age of 84 – every day and to help her cope with the grief, her husband bought her a ring so she could keep her father “close” to her.
Writing in the Daily Mail's You magazine she said: “Perhaps that’s what I miss most about my dad since he left us: wherever I was in my life, he was there for me and we felt so connected. It’s no exaggeration to say that I spoke with him every day and those wide-ranging, at times very silly, conversations are what got me through the Covid pandemic in Los Angeles – when the world was in lockdown and human connection was in short supply.
After he died, Sacha bought me a ring so I could hold his memory close every day. It’s a simple gold band with a delicate Scottish heather. It reminds me of home.”
At the time of Brian's death, the 'Great Gatsby' star questioned how people can go on living with people “you can’t live without”.
Isla said alongside a picture of her dad: “How do you live without someone that you can’t live without?
“How lucky am I to have had you as my dad. You were hilarious, positive and my best friend. No matter what was going on in my life, you always asked me if I was having fun.
“I know this pain is going to get worse as the days between when I last saw you increase and that is very scary.
“I love you so much. Thank you for being the greatest father.”
