its time for one last dance: manoj tiwary announces retirement from red ball cricket for bengal
Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary on Saturday announced his retirement from red-ball cricket for Bengal, his domestic team. He took to social media to announce his retirement from the Ranji Trophy and posted an emotional message. Last week, without sharing the details, he shared that a lot of things are going wrong in the prestigious tournament.
Tiwary reflected on his career and his immense love for his home ground, the Eden Gardens. He requested the fans to come and support him as he embarked on his last dance.
Tiwary made a U-turn in his pursuit of winning the Ranji Trophy for Bengal after announcing retirement last year, who last won the trophy in the 1989/90 season. Unfortunately, they failed to qualify for the knockouts this season.

“Hi all, So… It’s time for one last dance! Possibly one last time for a long walk towards my beloved 22 yards. I will miss every bit of it! Thanks for cheering and loving me all these years. Would be loving it if you all come down to my favourite #EdenGardens today and tomorrow to cheer for Bengal,” Tiwary tweeted.
Tiwary tweeted a video that summed up his full career, that lasted for a whopping 18 years.
“A circle is about to get completed at the iconic Eden Gardens. I was fortunate to make my first class debut at the Eden Gardens. I am about to play my last at the same venue where it all started. I am playing my last first class match of my career,” Tiwary added.
