India vs England: Yashasvi Jaiswal forced to retire hurt due to back spasm in Rajkot after incredible hundred
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s incredible innings has been put on a temporary halt for now as the Indian opener was forced to retire hurt due to back spasms on Saturday in the Rajkot Test.Â
Jaiswal was on 104 off just 133 balls when he started to feel discomfort on his back. The physio was called in after the 42nd over to look at the matter and conducted a long evaluation of the youngster.Â
The physio had given him some medication to the opener and was also seen stretching his leg, before Jaiswal was allowed to continue. After the 43rd over was completed, the physio was out on the field yet again as Jaiswal seemed to be in excruciating pain.Â
He would stay on for one more over, before deciding to walk off from the field and got a standing ovation from the crowd. England team was also appreciative of the knock, with coach Brendon McCullum also pictured applauding the effort of the youngster.Â
Jaiswal had a big leap to celebrate his hundred, which Sunil Gavaskar joked on commentary, could have been the reason behind the injury.Â
