Sturgeon pide al Parlamento británico reanudar las sesiones plenarias ante el «rápido deterioro» de la economía

La ministra principal de Escocia, Nicola Sturgeon, ha instado este miércoles a la Cámara de los Comunes británica a reanudar las sesiones plenarias y poner fin al receso ante lo que considera que es un “rápido deterioro de la crisis económica” que atraviesa el país.

Sturgeon ha indicado que tildado así de “extraordinaria” la idea de que el Banco de Inglaterra haya tenido que intervenir de emergencia para “reducir el daño provocado por las políticas gubernamentales”.

La líder del Partido Nacional Escocés (SNP, por sus siglas en inglés) ha pedido que el plan para rebajar los impuestos sea abolido cuanto antes. “¿Dónde está siquiera la primera ministra (Liz Truss)?”, ha aseverado en un mensaje difundido a través de su cuenta de Twitter.

“Los diputados deben reunirse de nuevo y mostrar al menos una señal de sentido común”, ha sostenido poco después de que las autoridades informaran de que el Banco de Inglaterra ha decidido intervenir de emergencia los mercados financieros para evitar la caída de la libra tras el anuncio de las políticas del Gobierno sobre la reducción de impuestos.
