Taylor Swift resale guide: How to buy last minute tickets to Melbourne and Sydney concerts

Taylor Swift fans will have one more shot at battling it out for tickets to her highly-coveted Sydney and Melbourne shows.

Millions of Australians tried and failed in September to secure a spot to the now sold-out shows, with only 450,000 tickets initially made available for the five concerts originally planned down under before another show was added to each city.

From Friday, Ticketek is opening its resale platform for Swift’s concerts, with thousands expected to flock to the site in the hope of purchasing a last minute pass to The Eras Tour.

Swift will perform in Melbourne on February 16, 17 and 18 and in Sydney on February 23, 24, 25 and 26.

It’s likely most fans will struggle to secure a ticket due to the unprecedented demand for the shows, however, Swifties can rest assured they will not be subject to scalping if they go through the official process.

HOW YOU CAN BUY A TICKET:

Opening at 7am (WA time) on November 24, lucky fans who go to Ticketek Marketplace (the only official resale platform) at the right time will find a number of tickets available from those looking to sell theirs.

With the number of tickets being resold limited by the number of fans selling them, there’s no prediction on how many will become available.

Regular tickets will be able to be sold up until the date of the concert, giving fans plenty of time to get lucky.

Those hoping for packages will have to buy them within the November 24 and December 15, the time period Ticketek has given for all VIP and hotel bundles.

HOW EXPENSIVE WILL THEY BE?

Thanks to strict scalping laws in Victoria and NSW, mark-ups on the resold tickets will be capped at 10 per cent above their initial costs.

The Marketplace is the only safe place to sell and buy tickets with other resale platforms banned from offering passes to The Eras Tour.

Tickets sold earlier in the year ranged from $79.90 for nosebleed seats to $379.00 for A Reserve, meaning the most expensive regular ticket on the resale platform will cost $416.90.

Those hoping to purchase a VIP package can expect to hand over a bit of cash, with the cheapest option to cost a maximum of $385.90 and the most expensive sitting at $1374.90 for a single pass.

WHEN WILL THE TICKETS ARRIVE?

Any successful fans will have the tickets they purchased reissued to them with a new barcode and their name, making the previous ticket void to ensure they are the only ones going to the concert.

They will be uploaded to fans Marketplace account of emailed to them, with tickets generally sent immediately or within 48-hours.

Once the tickets are in your hand, they are yours and can’t be refunded or exchanged.
