award-winning rose firm under new ownership

The award winning rose growers was founded in 1968 by Peter Beale

A famed rose specialist and the winner of 28 RHS Chelsea gold medals has new owners.

Peter Beales Roses, based near Attleborough, Norfolk, was founded in 1968 and produced the Queen’s Rose for the late monarch’s Diamond Jubilee.

The new owners – Bells Horticultural of Lincolnshire – said they hoped to maintain the “integral” parts of the business, including the garden centre, rose garden and breeding programme.

Managing director, Robert Bell, said they were “committed to preserving and enhancing the magic that makes Peter Beales Roses so special”.

He added that Peter Beales Roses had been a “cornerstone of its community for generations”.

“Our family has a long history of nurturing horticultural treasures,” he said.

“It’s a true honour to be entrusted with the stewardship of this brand that means so much to so many.”

He says whilst taking ownership of the business they hope to “develop a more engaging dialogue with our customers” as they move forward.
