A Mumbai man has decided to terminate his Jio Fiber subscription after experiencing persistent issues with the Reliance-owned internet service. Ketan Nardhani announced on X that he’s switching to a local internet service provider due to long and frequent outages and poor customer service offered by his current one.

“Since morning the Internet is not working & it’s still neither resolved nor do they [Jio] care to resolve it,” he wrote in a post last week.

At the time, Jio Care, a customer care service for the company, responded to the complaint with a seemingly automated message asking him to share his Jio Fiber service ID and registered mobile number.

Nardhani, a longtime Jio user, wrote in frustration: “How many times do I send you that? Take an effort to check your DM first rather than giving me robotic replies.”

Since the outage occurred on a weekday, his work was affected, according to the initial post. The issue was localised, Jio claimed in characteristic tone, reassuring that it will be resolved soon.

However, the nightmare was far from over, with the internet connection failing once again on Sunday. Nardhani alleged that his internet had been down for 10 hours.

“You better refund me the money back. The worst customer service I’ve ever seen,” he wrote in a follow-up post.

Nardhani has a long history of disappointments with the Mumbai-based company, having first encountered issues with their mobile internet speed in 2017.

Two years later, he found himself persistently seeking support with Jio Giga Fiber installation, with little success.

By 2021, outage complaints had become a recurring theme of his tweets.

The year after that, Nardhani said he was forced to pay for Amazon Prime subscription, which was supposed to come bundled with his Jio Fibre connection.
