Ben Affleck Attempts Pop Stardom in Dunkin’ Ad Featuring Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Jennifer Lopez, Jack Harlow and Fat Joe

Ben Affleck attempts a career pivot in his latest ad campaign for Dunkin’. The star-studded Super Bowl spot, which aired Sunday during the game, features Affleck alongside his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and friends Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Jack Harlow and Fat Joe.

In the commercial, Affleck, Damon and Brady all don tracksuits – available for sale from Dunkin’ on Monday – as part of their transformation to become “The DunKings” pop stars while Lopez, Harlow and Fat Joe offer skepticism.

“What up punks,” Affleck says as he enters what appears to be the set of a music video. “For your consideration, here comes the Boston massacre, The DunKings!”

He then introduces Brady (playing the keyboard) and Damon, who stands to the side and tells Affleck, “Sometimes it’s really hard to be your friend.”

The group breaks into a dance sequence set to a song titled “Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart,” which J.Lo and Fat Joe both watch with horror. As Affleck, Damon and the rest of their crew leave the building, per Lopez’s instruction, she tells Brady with a smile, “Tom, you can stay.”

At the start of the ad, before Affleck enters the set, Harlow asks him in a car, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

In response, Affleck tells him, “Last year, [J.Lo] came to my work, now I’ve got to show her what I can do.” The line is a reference to last year’s Dunkin’ ad, which the press release refers to as part of “The Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe,” when Affleck worked a Dunkin’ drive-through and his wife ordered coffee from him.

At the end of the ad, Damon tells his friend, “Remember when I told you I’d do anything for you? This is anything.”

The video ends with Affleck saying to “chill” because “they’re naming a drink after us.”
