In the announcement confirming the One Piece season 2 renewal, creator Eiichiro Oda confirmed that fan favorite character Tony Tony Chopper, the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates, will feature and as such, will need casting – here are 10 actors who fans could see playing a fantastic Tony Chopper in season 2 of One Piece.
10 actors who could play Chopper in One Piece live-action season 2
Roman Griffin Davis
Roman Griffin Davis would arguably be one of the most popular casting choices for Tony Tony Chopper– not only is he the right age to play Chopper at 16-year-old (Chopper is 15, pre-timeskip), but he is also one of the best-rising stars on this list.
The British actor made his professional debut as the lead star in Taika Waititi’s 2019 comedy drama, JoJo Rabbit, a performance that earned him Best Young Performer at the 20202 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Nick A. Fisher
American child actor Nick A. Fisher has notably featured as a young Jeffrey Dahmer in Evan Peters’ Dahmer series and the ‘Good Guy Doll’ in Chucky, as well as roles in Bosch: Legacy and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
The 11-year-old may be a little too young to either play or voice Tony Tony Chopper in Netflix’s One Piece adaptation; however, he is one of the few actors on this list with legitimate voice acting experience is the streamer does go with a CGI Chopper, having voiced characters in TOTS, Craig of the Creek. Frozen 2, and even in the second The Last of Us video game.

Jackson Robert Scott is an American actor from Arizona who fans may recognize as Georgie from Stephen King’s IT, Miles Blume in The Prodigy, and young Greg Laurie in Jesus Revolution.
The 14-year-old Scott also stars as Bode Locke in Netflix’s very own Locke & Key and if his abilities weren’t apparent from his outstanding performance in the show, it turns out that Scott was the only cast member to be kept on by Netflix after picking up the series from Hulu – every other character, aside from Scott, was recast.

Alex R. Hibbert is an American actor from New York who fans may recognize as Little from Moonlight, or Kevin Williams in The Chi – a role that he has reprised for over 56 episodes.
Not only is Hibbert around the right age to play Chopper at 19-years-old, but he would also be able to steal the show in Chopper’s more emotional moments – one of the character’s key themes to be explored in One Piece season 2.

Ian Chen is arguably one of the more ‘realistic’ casting choices on this list of actors for Tony Tony Chopper in Netflix’s live-action One Piece series since he is the closest in age (17) to the character, and the rest of the cast.
Chen is best-known for playing Evan Huang in Fresh Off the Boat and Eugene Choi in Shazam; he also has voiced acting experience with experience on Fancy Nancy, The Rocketeer, Yasuke, and Summer Camp Island.
Iain Armitage

Ian Armitage may be best-known for playing the titular character Young Sheldon, but it’s hard to ignore the similarities in the two characters if he was cast as Tony Chopper in One Piece; eccentric, meticulous, and humorous, with a hidden vulnerable side that demonstrates his deep caring for those he loves.
Armitage is 15 years old and aside from Young Sheldon, is known for his roles as young Shaggy Rogers in Scoob, Chase in PAW Patrol: The Movie, and Ziggy Chapman in Big Little Lies.

There is little doubt that Miles Brown could be an excellent Tony Tony Chopper in One Piece season 2, having become a fan favorite star of the ABC comedy series Black-ish as Jack Johnson since 2014.
The Californian is not just an actor, but also a dancer and rapper; exactly the type of energy/qualities needed to play the ever-eccentric Chopper.

Archie James Yates would certainly be one of the most understandable casting choices for Tony Tony Chopper if Netflix opts to prioritize the characters’ more comedic overtone, with the young actor having starred alongside Roman Griffin Davies in JoJo Rabbit and as Max in Home Sweet Home Alone.
Importantly, Yates also has voice acting experience with roles in Wolfboy and the Everything Factory, Amphibia, and Oni: Thunder God’s Tale.
One Piece season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, the show has already been renewed for season 2 and could release as soon as late-2024 or early-2025.
