Aubameyang a stop-gap before Chelsea chase Nkunku

Chelsea’s pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is merely a short-term option before a 2023 bid for Christopher Nkunku.

The RB Leipzig star shunned major interest to agree a new contract with the German club earlier this summer, amid talk of a £100million price tag.

The Telegraph claim Chelsea are still very keen on the French forward and will go again for a deal next year.

For now, talks with Barcelona over a deal for Aubameyang are set to continue as the Blues seek an immediate boost up front.

Antonio Conte keen on further Tottenham signings if favoured fringe players leave in clear-out

Antonio Conte has raised the possibility of further signings at Tottenham this summer, saying the club must replace any players who leave before the end of the month.

Tanguy Ndombele arrived in Rome on Thursday to complete a medical with Napoli ahead of a season-long loan move, while Giovani Lo Celso returned to Villarreal on loan last week.

Conte, however, has not considered either midfielder part of his squad since they returned from previous loan spells at the start of pre-season, and they were training individually. Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon are also on the transfer list and training alone.
