Ultrahuman, which runs an advanced metabolic fitness platform of the same name, introduced its new Ultrahuman Ring Friday. The metabolism-tracking wearable is available via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
The company said it “seeks to engage the creator community and innovate with biohackers all around the world.” The campaign runs through October 27.
Ultrahuman Ring tracks metabolism through real-time biomarkers
The new Ultrahuman Ring measures movement, sleep and the body’s energy dynamics and offers recommendations for recuperation to help people take control of their health, the company said. It uses quantifying metrics related to general health. They include movement, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV) and sleep.
Some have called for Apple to make a product like this, but so far to no avail.
“We have always believed in the power of biomarkers in terms of their ability to make health optimization more efficient. With the Ultrahuman ring and a new suite of metabolic biomarkers, you can now understand not just what’s affecting your glucose metabolism but also how to act on the insights in an efficient way,” said Ultrahuman founder and CEO Mohit Kumar.
The ring’s minimal form factor has no screens or notification vibrations to distract users. Instead, Ultrahuman said, they can check details at any time on the app.
The ring, featuring a 5-day battery life, is designed to endure workouts. Its titanium body is coated with tungsten carbide, which is five times harder than tool steel, so the ring resists scratches. And a smooth inner shell makes the ring comfortable during sleep and rest.
Ultrahuman M1 platform
Ultrahuman Ring works standalone or in combination with the existing advanced glucose-monitoring platform, Ultrahuman M1. The platform offers users metabolic insights and more-precise action items to optimize health.
Ultrahuman aims to optimize health through biomarkers by quantifying the response of each user’s diet, workout and sleep on the platform. The personalized data allows a user to make decisions for a better lifestyle.

The company estimates a retail price of $300. Currently more than 500% over the funding goal, the company said it expect to ship rings starting in January 2023.
