The Ole Miss football program celebrated the retirement of Eli Manning’s No. 10 jersey.

There are now three numbers retired by the Ole Miss football program: No. 18 for Archie Manning, No. 38 for Chucky Mullins and now No. 10 for Eli Manning.

Manning and his family were in attendance in Oxford on Saturday to see his No. 10 jersey be retired. It was an emotional day for him to join the likes of his iconic father and the legacy of what Mullins means to this football program to forever be recognized at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. It was a tall task to play in the shadow of his legendary father, but Manning did alright at Ole Miss.

Here he is speaking with CBS’ Jamie Erdahl about the special moment for his family in Oxford.

“It’s an honor to be up there with my dad and Chucky Mullins.”

Manning grew up watching games and tailgating at The Grove. With his young family in attendance, perhaps Ole Miss football will trickle down to a third generation of Mannings? Let’s not forget that his five-star nephew Arch was also visiting Oxford for this special family occasion.

The Mannings will forever be associated with quarterbacking greatness while at Ole Miss.
