Weather Update: Post-Snowfall Cold Wave Grips North India; Rain Likely In Many States

Cold weather conditions are still prevalent in Delhi due to incessant cold waves, which are triggered by snowfall in hilly regions. Cold winds could be witnessed during the morning while a slight chill could be felt in the evening. However, bright sunshine could be felt during the daytime.

As per the weather department, rain could likely be seen in many states across the country from February 14. Slight fog was also seen in many areas on Monday morning, as the weather department predicted. Dense clouds could shroud sky in the evening.

The maximum temperature is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be eight degrees Celsius. There may also be light rain or drizzle on Wednesday.

The weather continues to be dry in Bihar. Light rain is expected across many districts in the state. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms.

Cold waves after snowfall in many areas of Himachal have been severely affecting people in the hilly region. Barring Shimla, the minimum temperature was registered below the normal in many key cities. People on the plains could get a bit of respite from the cold after February 16, the weather department predicted.

Rain warning:

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain has been predicted in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, South Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar, Jharkhand and other areas. At the same time, there are chances of rain in southern Uttar Pradesh, southern Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal between 12th to 14th February.

The weather department has predicted a rise of 3-5 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures in some parts of northwest, central, east and west India during the next two days.
