Capped off with an appearance in the Rose Bowl, Alabama’s 2023 season was more successful than the previous year despite an overtime loss to Michigan in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff. Now, with new head coach Kalen DeBoer at the helm, the 2024 season is sure to bring its fair share of excitement.

Our first preview of DeBoer’s Alabama team will come on A-Day, the Crimson Tide’s designated spring game date. Alabama pulled in a few key transfers this offseason, snagging four players from DeBoer’s previous team, the Washington Huskies. The Crimson Tide also lost several players to the transfer portal, though, and a few more to the NFL Draft.

Jalen Milroe is returning for his redshirt junior season behind a revamped offensive line. Junior Jam Miller will lead the running back room, and Washington transfer Germie Bernard could impress at wide receiver.

Former Michigan safety Keon Sabb was a strong portal addition for Alabama’s defensive unit, along with LT Overton, a lineman from Texas A&M. Malachi Moore is an exciting returnee as a 2023 team captain, and linebacker Deontae Lawson is also back in the mix.
