Download Festival fury after rock fans were forced to party in 'mud up to their ankles' branding the sludge a 'serious health hazard' - as event end on a low

Rock music fans at Download Festival have been left filthy and furious after they were forced to party in 'mud up to their ankles' - with one person branding the sludge a 'serious health hazard.'

Torrential rainfall turned Donington Park, where the festival is held, into a mud bath that even musicians couldn't ignore.

Revellers at last year's Download Festival enjoyed a fun-filled weekend under the June sunshine as Britain basked in the summer heat.

However, for this year's crowd, the event could not be more different as they faced heavy showers across most of the weekend.

This led to the Leicestershire park's landscape being transformed into a bog with fans taking to social media to vent their anger at the weather conditions.

They captioned the video: 'We had a great time today at Download! Here’s a glimpse of our performance. Hope you guys had fun in the mud.'
